Greenville-Pickens Area Transportation Study
Ready for another entity to know by its initials? GPATS (short for the "Greenville-Pickens Area Transportation Study") is the government entity that does transportation planning for the Taylors area (you can read more about the nitty-gritty of it here). They are currently updating their Long–Range Transportation Plan, which, as the name implies, sets the priorities for transportation in our region. Earlier in July, I went to a physical workshop to give input, but you have an opportunity to provide feedback as well by completing a survey. The survey is lengthy, but the results impact how roads, bridges, trains, and trails are developed in our region, so I encourage you to take some time and let your voice be heard!
Finally, if you’ve not checked it out already, I have found Simple Civics Greenville County to be a great resource for learning more about our community! Its quick episodes are packed with great information about how average citizens can better engage in our community. If you’ve read this far, you will also like it. 😉
