The Need for Strong Local Relationships
Hey everyone, Happy March! One issue always on my mind these days is how our social fabric seems strained uniquely in our times. For various reasons, cultural and technological, we have a more challenging time connecting with others now than at any point in recent history.
Recently, I was listening to a podcast episode of The Russell Moore Show and was struck by his conversation with Seth Kaplan on this subject. Seth and Russell discuss the need for strong local relationships and the power of institutions in communities to help give structure to those relationships. Their conversation got me thinking about how we can better work out these principles in the Taylors area. This episode is about 52 minutes long (only 26 minutes at 2x speed!), and I hope you’ll listen and think about the role local relationships and institutions can play in how you conduct your life here in Taylors.
You can also check out Kaplan’s recent book, Fragile Neighborhoods, for more if you find this conversation helpful.
Thanks for reading, and see you again next month.
